This past Friday, the Buxmont Connie Mack Board of Directors voted to play the summer season as soon as Montgomery and Bucks Counties go to "green" which is supposed to happen on or around June 29.

What this means is that barring some unforeseen setback, baseball IS ON for Harleysville Connie Mack players in 2020.

The tentative start date for games has been set for July 6.  The intent is to play as close to a normal length schedule as possible and end sometime around Labor Day.  Games will be held both on weekdays and weekends as has normally been the case.

Here's how it will work in Harleysville........................

Everyone who registered to play summer is still registered so no refund will be issued.  We will order uniforms, hats, etc as normal which will be distributed to players once teams have been formed.

As of now, due to the need to quickly determine teams, player evaluations as are normally held WILL NOT be held this summer.  The Harleysville Connie Mack Committee will determine the rosters based upon the final registration list.

Our plan is to enter 3 teams in Buxmont - A, B and C1.

Head Coach A - Ed Valentine
Head Coach B - TBD
Head Coach C1 - Mike Fornwall

We understand that due to COVID, summer vacations, or potential conflicts such as participation in other fall sports like football, your son may not be able to participate in a league that runs from July to early September.
If that is the case, we ask that you simply notify us ASAP and you will be issued a full refund.  Many who are receiving this email have already communicated their intent to either play or not play with the league.

The idea is that we want to try to have as close to a "final and complete" registration list by this Friday, June 19th at the latest so that we can start putting together rosters.

Lastly, for obvious reasons, the league this year is requiring that all players who participate complete a waiver form (signed by a parent).  Please refer to the attached PDF.  I urge both player and parent(s) to read carefully.
THE WAIVER MUST BE SIGNED BY A PARENT AND RETURNED TO THE LEAGUE PRIOR TO ANY PLAYER BEING PERMITTED TO PARTICIPATE IN EITHER GAMES OR PRACTICES.

If there are any questions or concerns, or to let us know about a players playing status, please feel free to email either Karl Janetka or Ed Valentine at [email protected].
